Unfortunately our April 6/12hr Rogaine is cancelled.
We’re disappointed that our numerous efforts to hold the event in the Blackwood area were unsuccessful.
Our next event will be our 2 x 6hr Rogaines in May. We look forward to seeing you then.

Location Description

Macedon to Blackwood area which is very close to Melbourne.


Most likely A3 size at 1:25,000 scale. Pre-marked checkpoints printed on non-waterproof paper.

Entry details

Entries will open around 10th March.   Late fee expected to apply Saturday 25th March and Entries to close by Wednesday 29th March.  We do not accept any new teams after entries close and this included no new team entries on event day.

Event Entry Fees

6 hour Adults $40 Junior $25 (under 18) Juniors get free entry when in a team with an adult. 12 hour Adults $40 Junior $25 (under 18) Juniors get free entry when in a team with an adult.

Final Instructions and Start location

Final instructions (including start location and how to get there) will be available on this web page from Tuesday 28th March.
Team lists are available via a button above once entries have open.
Please complete an Indemnity form before arriving at the event.  A copy of the form is included in the Final Instructions.    ALL team members must sign the form.
No pets are allowed at Rogaines.
Please read about Biosecurity in Rogaining and make sure you equipment is clean before you leave home.

Mandatory equipment

Each team member must carry a compass, a whistle and a headlamp or torch. Lights and compasses on smartphones do not meet this requirement and will not be allowed.

Each team must also carry a mobile phone and a first aid kit. This should contain as a minimum
- 1 heavyweight compression bandage for snakebites
- 1 roller bandage
- 1 triangular bandage (or blood absorbent cotton pads)
- sticking plaster
- VRA first aid instruction sheet
These are available from Event Admin if needed.

There will be an equipment check before registration.

Event Timeline

Timeline assuming an 11am start.  We may decide to do a 10am or midday start.

9:00am     Registration opens for both event and map issues.
10:45am   Briefing – all must attend
11:00am   Both 6hr and 12hr events start
4:30pm     Sausage sizzle opens
5:00pm     6hr Finish
5:30pm     Approximate time of 6hr presentation
11:00pm   12hr Finish.     It is unlikely we be able to provide a sausage sizzle for the 12hr finish.
11:15pm   Approximate time of 12hr presentation


Camping at the Hash House to be confirmed however being a 12hr that is a key requirement we want to have available.

Hash House Meal

At the end of each event we plan to provide a sausage sizzle provided we can find a service club available to provide this service. Getting a service club to provide a sausage sizzle for a small number is unlike to be possible. The VRA plan to provide self-serve Milo, tea & coffee. We'll are continuing to search for innovative ways to provide some basic catering for the end of the 12hr. Ideas welcomed. Contact Phil Giddings via the contacts page.
