Sunday Navigation Training
For our 2x6hour rogaines we offer training. Below is the what we offered last year and expect similar in 2025
Wondering how to use your 2 hours of preparation time best and improve your route choice? Or how to get more points? Did you run out of time, were late back to the Hash House, and want to get better at that? What about route selection techniques and optimal routes?
As was done at 2x6hr rogaines in 2023 and 2024, on Sunday 13th April we are planning live navigation coaching in conjunction with Sunday bush rogaine. The plan is to pair up an experienced rogainer to travel with each trainee team and provide coaching. The coaching will be aimed at people new to bush navigation, or those who have tried some rogaining but struggle to find checkpoints.
We’ll invite interest teams or individual to register there interest in being in a coached team with a link to be available here in the month before the event. As we confirm the availability of coaches, we will invite those registered to enter via a link sent by email. The first to register will be the first invited to enter. If you are a group of friends, register as a group and we’ll keep you together. The training teams will score results in the Sunday rogaine but the focus will be on learning and not scoring. You will also be able to register as an individual as we will create teams of 3 to 5 people and allocate a coach.
Please Do NOT enter the normal Sunday event if you want coaching – wait until you receive the registration link.
Volunteers Needed
Rogaines could not run without volunteers. If you have any friends who would like to help us while you storm the course, to date we still have several volunteer roles to fill.
There are many ways you can volunteer without missing out on doing the event. The great thing about having two separate 6hr events over one weekend is that you could enter one day and volunteer on the other, or you could help with setup before, or collecting checkpoints after the event.
