CBDgaine (1 March 2026)

Despite an incredibly humid day, this year’s CBD event was a fantastic way to start the year. Kicking off in Docklands and winding through Melbourne’s parks, buildings, and laneways, there was plenty to see and do for both first-timers and seasoned rogainers. As always, the CBDGaine came with that classic bit of serendipity—stumbling through a city already buzzing with weekend life. This year’s course passed a big Porsche car show on Clarendon Street, the Melbourne Vixens Fan Day at Fed Square, Melbourne’s Great Greek Street Party, and even the World Naked Bike Ride in North Melboune!

A massive thanks to our chief course setter Karla Fallon, who did an amazing job as a first time setter, as well as our small army of volunteers that made the event run smoothly. Thanks to Clare Brownridge, Gin Anstice, Grant Jeffrey, Hayden Anstice, Helen Alexander, Ian Wanless, Judi Herkes, Kate Bowditch, Kerry Gigante, Nick Sommes, Phil Giddings, Richard Homburg, Simin Ngan, Steve Gelsi and all the others that lent a hand both on the day and behind the scenes before the event

Congratulations to Tom Lothian and Kate Gavens who managed an impressive 4090 points to take the win!. Our top three teams were:-

• Denis Cassidy, Kyle Zarb (4000)
• Alicia Dymowski, Andrew Baker (3910)

Note: The Admin Manager (i.e. me) managed to misplace one of the team sheets with the team member updates for the day. If you think we have put you in the wrong category for the event because one of your team members didn’t make it, please contact navlight@rogainevic.org.au and I will update the category accordingly. This won’t however won’t impact the overall winners.
