Twin Creeks Metrogaine (Sunday 16 August 2026)

What a perfect day to hold this years Winter Metrogane. A foggy start at the surprisingly rugged Derabin Parklands cleared to a stunningly beatiful sunny winter amble. The course offered many places to explore from Merri Creek in West through to the Yarra Flats in East. There was a wonderful blend of urban exploration and natural parklands, cafes and architecture. For me, a Metrogaine is always about visiting parts of Melbourne that I’ve never been before and this event for our team was 20km of new and wonderful places. Ten out of Ten.

Many thanks to all those involved in planning and managing this event: Evelyn Nossol, Andrew Nossol who set the course, along with Phil Giddings, Steve Gelsi, Grant Jeffrey, Monica Raphael, Fran Paysen, Louise Gilbert, Simin Ngan, David Gibbins, Sienna Gibbins, Nick Kluckow, Nick Somes, Karla Fallon, Stuart Baker and Gordon Stephen. who all helped before the event or made things run like clockwork on the day.

Congratulations to all teams that were out competing Sunday, but especially to Kyle Zarb and Denis Cassidy who managed to score a staggering 3480 points to take the win! Our podium was:-
