Durdidwarrah 2x6hr Rogaine (13 & 14 June 2026)

For the first time in several decades, Rogaining has returned to the Brisbane Ranges!!. The Dirdidwarrah Rogaine was very much a tale of two days. Saturday was overcast and saw serval hours of rain later in the event whereas Sunday was a picture postcard sunny winters day. Regardless of the day the competitors were greeted with plenty of wonderful route choices through open (and some less open) bushland and interesting historic sites. We were also joined by Bush Search and Rescue who were using the event to sharpen their navigation skills on Saturday providing many eager volunteers should anyone have got lost.

Well done to every team that competed. The Saturday event was taken out by Jordan and Byron Sanford, with a massive 1880 points focusing on the northern end of the map. For the Sunday event Richard & Ben Goonan took the chocolates with an impressive 1730 points.

Thanks to the wonderful event team led by John Gavins and Heather Leslie, who again put together another impressively run Rogaine, including rustling up a large pool of volunteers for both days. To our whole Volunteer team including (Aaron Bembenek, Ainslie Cummins, Alan Cooke, Alice Feng, Andrew Turner, Ange Gardiner, Ben Grace, Celia Bolton, Derek Morris, Grant Jeffrey, Heather Leslie, Helen Alexander, John Gardiner, John Gavens, Karen Dukes, Katherine McMillan, Leisa Christou, lucinda Hookey, Martin O’Hely, Nick Somes, Norm O’Bryan, Patrick McMillan, Paula Horton, Peter Brooks, Peter Chen, Phil Giddings, Rebeccca Shaw, Richard Homburg, Rob Peel, Sarah Goyen, Sofie Van Gunsteren, Steve Horton, Steven Goyen, Tim Collyer) as well as a host of folks who chipped in on both days, as always, we couldn’t do it without you. Shoutout also to our Bogong Coaches (Merv Trease, Don Baker, Greg Robinson, Kerry Williams, Vic Sedunary) who took out a number of trainees on their first Rogaine.
