Committee Member from May 2024 – Monica Raphael

In 2008 Monica was obsessed with marathon kayaking, and so she happily took out the Women’s competition of her first rogaine, the Mulwala Paddlogaine. Although hooked at first dip, Monica has never placed in a rogaine since, and probably never will. Still, the sport remains tantalising. Why? These days rogaining provides the perfect excuse for a dawdle somewhere new to ogle moss, fungi and wild flowers. Monica also enjoys patching up people first-aid-wise, as well as compliance and inventory management. Therefore, she was delighted to find the VRA’s First Aid Officer’s role wanting, and appreciates the opportunity to be part of the committee.
